To God belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth; God suf- fices as a Guardian. [God] cuts off the innermost selves from attachment to anything but Him by informing them that He alone possesses what is in the heavens and the earth. Then He evokes desire in them for His superior guardianship and His attending to their needs with beautiful kindness and superior capability by His saying “God suffices as a Guardian. He sets things right by taking hold of your state without taking anything that is yours.”
