O people a proof has now come to you from your Lord The proof burhān is that which appeared in their innermost selves from the testimonial witnessings shawāhid of the Real. and We have revealed to you a manifest light. It is His speech khiṬāb-they obtain insight istibṣār through the ponder- ing of its meanings.
