* تفسير Tafsir al-Tustari

{ وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ }

and that it is He who makes to laugh and to weep,He said:That is, He made the obedient laugh with His mercy (raḥma) and destroyed the transgressors with His wrath (sakhṭ). He made the hearts of the mystics joyful with the light of gnosis of Him and made the hearts of His enemies grieve with the darkness of His wrath.
