His 'scent', which he [Jacob] sensed from [such] a distance, constitutes the arrival of the effect of the heart's return to the knowledge of the intellect and of what is rational, and its turning to it from sheer affirmation of Oneness by equipping the animal faculties with the provision of shares according to the stipulations of justice, the canon of the divine law and the intellect. It is said that he equipped the cameleers with the fairest [provisions] before sending it off in the direction of [the land of] Canaan.
